Working out Without Using the Legs

I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to work out anymore due to the conditions in my knees. I was discouraged for a while and since I couldn’t burn calories, I was strict with myself on how much I consumed.

Upon googling workouts without the use of my legs, I couldn’t find much besides crunches (which I will discuss in another post). So I’ve made it my goal to work on strength-training, at least until my knees fully heal. That’s not to say I’m going to become a body builder, but I just want to do what I can to stay in shape. I’ve been doing the exercises my physical therapist gave me, which work to strengthen my quads, IT bands, calves, and glutes. But I’ve added to that to maintain core, back and arm strength as well. It’s important to balance out our workouts. Say, if you’re working out your legs we should work out our arms the same. We should hit a little bit of every part of the body during each workout session.
